Shenzhen Imported 27000 Tons of Dairy Products in First Five Months of 2014

According to customs statistics, Shenzhen ports imported 27000 tons of dairy products in the first  five months of 2014, increased by 79.7% compared with figures of a year earlier. The total value reached 1.13 billon yuan, increased 1.2  times. The average price was 4,3000 yuan per tone, increased by 21.3%. Therein, the import quantity of May was 7319 tons, increased 1.4 times. The value reached 330 million yuan, tripled last may. The average import price was 46000 yuan per ton, rose by 69.8%


Main Characteristics of Dairy Products Imported Via Shenzhen Ports in First Five Months Of 2014


1.Monthly Import Quantity Remained High, and Import Average Price Kept Increasing. From January to March, the monthly import quantity was between 3500 tons to 4500. And then there was a rebound in April and May. The monthly import quantity was over 7000 tons. The import quantity of May was 7319 tons, and 7359 tons in April. Meanwhile, the average price of May  maintained  at over 40,000 yuan per ton- a high price since this year.The average price of May was 46000 yuan per ton, increased by 69.5% year on year, up by 11.1% from April

2. Import quantity by general trade exceeded 90%. In May, dairy products imported through Shenzhen ports reached 6793 tons, up by 2 tones, accounting for 92.7% of the total dairy import quantity via Shenzhen at the same period. The quantity imported by processing mode was 354.2 tons, up by 3.1 tons, took up 4.8%. The quantity imported by Customs special supervision zone mode was 181.3 tons, decreased by 76.4%, accounting for 2.5%

3.Europe was the largest import origin place, while the import quantity from ASEAN increased sharply. In may, imported dairy products from EU via Shenzhen ports reached 2681 tons, up by 1.9 tons, taking up 36.6%. The import from US was 1733 tons, increased by 60.9%, accounting for 23.9%. 1050 tons was imported from  ASEAN, surged by 11.2 times. And 1024 tons were from New Zealand, rose by 2.1 times.

4. Private enterprises import accounted for around 60%, while foreign-fund enterprise increase sharply. In May, private enterprises imported 4374 tons, up by 97.9%, accounting for 59.8%. Foreign-Funded Enterprise imported 2141 tons, rose by 10.7 times, taking up 29.3%. State-owned enterprise imported 804.1 tons, increased by 11.9%. Accounting for 11%.
