How A Guangzhou Customs Agent Cleared Dried Banana Chips?
Dried banana, also called banana chips, is a very popular snack. Containing lot of protein and mineral substances, banana chips can help human body maintain balance between sodium and Potassium, help to promote diuresis, reduce the swelling and regulate blood pressure. Banana trees love high temperature and shall avoid frost. They mostly grown in tropical and subtropical zones. In China, a huge quantity of fresh banana and banana products are imported from abroad.
Recently, Seahog¡¯s Guangzhou customs broker team helped clear and import a shipment with banana chips and banana rolls originated from Thailand at Guangzhou Nansha port. The required documents
As pre-packed food, the customs clearance in China requires packing list, invoice, sales contract, bill of lading, certificate of origin, health certificate, phytosanitary certificate, ingredient test report, process flow chart and declaration elements.
Notes for Importation of Banana chips
GB7718 General Rules for Labels of Pre-packed Food make very specific requirements for the content, format, font, and font size as shown on Chinese label. It will affect the importation directly if the Chinese labels are unqualified.
The new management regulations required that when export food to Chinese mainland, the registered enterprises shall mark their registration number at China customs system or at the competent department of their countries or regions on external and internal packages. The registration numbers marked on external and internal packages can be printed, pasted or sprayed, unless our country¡¯s relevant laws and regulations and National Standards for Food Safety regulate otherwise.
Foreign food enterprises that produce food outside the eighteen categories shall submit registration application to GACC by themselves or ask their agent assist with it.
The food importer shall establish the record system for importation and sales and shall record the name of food, net weight, quantity, production date , batch number, expiry date, the name, address and contact info of the foreign exporter, and date of delivery faithfully, and shall keep the relevant vouchers. The keeping life for the records and the vouchers shall not be less than 6 months after the expiry date. If the food does not specify the expiry date, the keeping life shall be at least 2 years after selling.
