Importation of Used Equipment Can be Easy When Some Points are Noted and Taken Care
What is used equipment?
1. Equipment that has been used but still keeps its basic or all using value.
2. Equipment that has been replaced with spare parts or that been renewed and yet still has the original technical performances.
3. Overstocked equipment whose guarantee period has expired or whose spare parts have obvious tear and wear and yet that still keeps its original technical performances.
Notes:
1. Most used equipment shall obtain pre-shipping inspection certificate outsie of China mainland before being imported. During the inspection, CCIC inspectors will do preliminary judge on the perfermances and safety of the used equipment and will only issue pre-shipping inspection certificate to the used equipment that meets relevant requirements.
2. During China customs inspection, the customs officers will check if the imported equipment is consistent with the declarations and will do assessment on the performance and safety of the eqipment. If the customs officers think that the imported equipment is too klunky, has no using value or do not think the equipment can work , they will issue “Solid Waste Identification” order. Please note that the solid waster identification is usually operated by Customs’ Technical Appraisal Center or qualified third-party organization. In the case that the used equipmentis identified as solid waste, it will be return or destroyed. The importer will face the risks of being fined or be sentenced. Imported equipment that can be used normally after repair and rectification can be imported also well.
3. After port customs releases the goods and the used equipment arrives at the destination, the destination customs will visit the place where the equipment is stored and do destination inspection. The customs officers will check the name plate info and will check if the appearance of the equipment meets import requirements or not.
