Shenzhen CIQ: Over 30%Nori Imported from Korea in First Half of 2014 was Found Unqualified
Recently, Shenzhen CIQ held a press press conference to brief the interception of epidemic deceases, the inspection and quarantine job of imported cargoes, the deduction and exemption of charges, and the issue of certificate of origin, and the inspection and quarantine on freash and living products supplied to Hong Kong of the first of half of 2014.
In the first half of this year, Shenzhen CIQ took steps to facilitate customs clearance and serve enterprises at utmost, and implemented the policy of deducting and exempting charges and helped enterprise save 200 million yuan charges, so as to create a sound clearance environment.
From Jan to Jun of 2014, Shenzhen CIQ totally inspected 108 million entry & exit person times, detected plant 753 categories and 33482 varieties from imported plant and its products(). Therein, 62 categories and 3142 varieties were quarantine pest. And Shenzhen CIQ inspected and quarantined 191,000 batches of import cargoes with a total value of 16.04 usd, and issue 347, 000 GSP and regional preference certificates of origin, the amount of the issued certificates reaches 8.11 billion USD, increasing by 10.7% and 19.1 compared with same period of last year, reduced and exempted 490 millions USD for enterprises, intercepted and captured 45765 batches of banned entry articles with a total weight of 70.4 tons. Therein, 7802 batches were animals and animal products , 37771 batches were plant and plant, and 263 batches were intercepted and captured from postal entry articles.
Shenzhen CIQ also reported some classic inspection and quarantine cases. For example, Shenzhen port destroyed 61 tons of unqualified banana from Philippine. CNCs from Switzerland had safety risks. Shenzhen port detected wast fabric products which were banned from import in imported used machines. Over 30% nori imported from Korea in the first half of 2014 were found having safety and sanitary problems. Dangerous chemicals imported from Spain did not have package of dangerous cargoes.
